Big Bones is a band that always delivers without preconception, allowing themsleves to be carried away by intuition and emotion, thus delivering brave and incisive performances, which always reflect the heartbreaking authenticity of the Blues.

Big Bones is a blues band that was formed in 2009 in the city of Medellín. It has a rather particular beginning, as it is derived from the NuJazz group GREEN MONKEY. the members decided to do try adding blues to the band format. But, when the talents of Mr. Pineda became apparent, the band immediately decided to not add blues to the Jazz Trio's repertoire, instead, the natural conclusion was to create a project in parallel and BIG BONES was born.

Confidentially, the owners of the Herbario Restaurant (GREEN MONKEY headquarters, where the group performs every Tuesday), inform the group that they are going to open a new restaurant, BONUAR, and that it is inspired by African-American cuisine and culture, and where BIG BONES performed regularly

Between 2012 and 2015, the group gained notoriety as the support band for American Bluesmen; such as, WATERMELON SLIM, GUITAR SHORTY, JOE LOUIS WALKER, JOHN NEMETH, TERRY BRAVERMAN & RICHARD ¨RIP¨ LEE PRYOR.

For 2013, the band toured Argentina (BIG BONES - GOIN´DOWN TOUR 2013) on stages of the highest level, among which the famous one stands out: LA TRASTIENDA in the nation's capitol city of Buenos Aires, El Teatro Bar (Sala Opera) of the City of La Plata and Abbey Road Concert Bar in Mar del Plata. This tour provides an entirely new international level of exposure for the Medellin group.

The group continues working and playing in different areas of the city to stay relevant, performing at important national events in the blues scene; such as, TORTAZO BLUES & BLUES MÓVIL.

Since 2015, the group has faced new challenges and solidified their position on the music scene by producing and performing the following tributes: BIG BONES PLAYS JIMI HENDRIX, 3 KINGS, BIG BONES & ABURRÁ BIG BAND & BIG BONES PLAYS STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN.

Big Bones es una banda que siempre se entrega sin pensar, dejándose llevar por intuición y sentimientos, realizando así performances valientes e incisivos, que siempre reflejan la autenticidad desgarradora del Blues.

Big Bones es un grupo de Blues, que comienza en el 2009 el la ciudad de Medellín. Tiene un inicio un poco particular, ya que se deriva del grupo de NuJazz GREEN MONKEY. Decidimos hacer un ensayo para probar con el blues y cuando escuchamos el talento del señor Pineda de inmediato decidimos que no íbamos a Incluir Blues en el repertorio de Trío de Jazz, la conclusión natural fue gestar un proyecto paralelo y es así como nace THE BIG BONES como Grupo.

Confidencialmente los dueños del Restaurante Herbario (Sede de GREEN MONKEY y lugar donde el grupo se presenta todos los martes). Nos comentan que van a inaugurar un restaurante nuevo BONUAR y que esta inspirando en la cultura y costumbre Afro, y es así come THE BIG BONES consiguen una sede donde se pueda presentar constantemente.

Para el año 2012 y durante los 3 años siguientes se presenta el proyecto de mayor dimensión, ser la banda de soporte de Bluesman como WATERMELON SLIM, GUITAR SHORTY, JOE LOUIS WALKER, JOHN NEMETH, TERRY BRAVERMAN & RICHARD ¨RIP¨ LEE PRYOR.

Para el 2013 la banda realiza un tour por Argentina (THE BIG BONES – GOIN´DOWN TOUR 2013) en escenarios del más alto nivel entre los que se destacan la afamada: LA TRASTIENDA en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, El Teatro Bar (Sala Opera) de la Ciudad de La Plata y Abbey Road Concert Bar de Mar del Plata. Esta Gira abre todo un nuevo panorama para la agrupación Medellinense a Nivel Internacional.

El grupo continua trabajando y tocando en diferentes lugares de la ciudad para mantenerse vigente esto acompañado de eventos importantes a nivel nacional en la escena blues cómo son TORTAZO BLUES & BLUES MÓVIL.

Y desde el año 2015 un nuevo reto se ha venido consolidando para el grupo con los tributos que ha realizado, entre los que se encuentran THE BIG BONES PLAYS JIMI HENDRIX, 3 KINGS, THE BIG BONES & ABURRÁ BIG BAND & THE BIG BONES PLAYS STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN.

Este año se cumplen los 10 años de la agrupación y queremos celebrarlos haciendo un resumen de todo los proyectos en los que nos hemos comprometidos en nuestra trayectoria musical.
